Senior Pastor Jonathon Brown

Jon and Kristyn Brown were both born and raised in Holland, Michigan, each graduating from Holland High School and Hope College. Jon graduated in 1999 with chemistry major and a biology/Spanish minor(s). Kristyn graduated in 2001 with an education/language arts composite major. Jon has since received an M. Div from Western Theological Seminary and is currently working on a Masters of Theology from Regent College in Vancouver, B.C. Jon and Kristyn have two daughters: Lydia Hope and Tabitha Joy! Jon and Kristyn are eager to participate in proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ in this community and the world with First Reformed Church.

Associate Pastor: Bryan Boersma

Bryan is a native of Hudsonville, MI. His family moved to Holland, MI where he graduated from Holland High School in 1996. Bryan received his B.A. in communications at Hope College. While at Hope, he met Melissa, a native of Zeeland, MI. Melissa was completing her B.S.N. (nursing degree). Bryan and Melissa were married in May, 2000. Bryan is a recent graduate of Western Theological Seminary, and is Associate Minister of Outreach and Youth. He, Melissa, Levi and baby Julia arrived in Oak Harbor in August of 2004.

Minister of Worship and Student Life: Ryan West

We are eager to welcome Ryan and Karla West, and their beautiful girl, Ella, to Oak Harbor. Ryan West comes to us from Denver, Colorado, where Ryan served at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church, and Karla pursued a career in viola and violin. Ryan is 26 and a graduate of Biola Universiry where he earned a BA in Biblical Studies and a minor in music. He also graduated from Talbot School of Theology earning a Masters in the Philosophy of Religion and Ethics.

Office Staff: Office Administrator Kayleigh Carvalho

Kayleigh Carvalho has been with the FRC Staff for two years now. Kayleigh comes to us all the way from New England. Born In Connecticut, she graduated from Christian Heritage School as an honor roll student, captain of the Varsity Tennis team, and a member of the schools worship team. She moved to Whidbey Island in August '06 with her husband Holland who is a Flight Engineer for the U.S. Navy. She feels extremely blessed that she has a job where she can serve God on a daily basis and further His kingdom.
