Why Trees?

The psalmist had a vision, it was actually a prayer,
that those who drink deep from the well of living
water would become like trees. The prayer went like this:

"Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked
Or take the path that sinners tread
Or sit in the seat of scoffers,
But their delight is in the law of the Lord
And on his law they meditate day and night
       They are like trees
       Planted by streams of water
Who yields its fruit in its
       Whose leaves do not wither,
In all that they do they prosper"
We want to borrow the psalmist’s prayer and make it our own.
We want to be like trees, growing close to each other in the forest
of God’s people in the soil of his grace, whose roots run deep drinking
from the water of life, and whose branches reach wide bearing fruit for the glory of Jesus.

Growing Closer Page

If you were to experience the life and
people of FRC it would not be long
before you experienced one of our leading
 values, authentic relationships.  We want
to be a place and people where authentic
relationships between people are nurtured and
new relationships are established. We call it
growing closer. Jesus says,
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Going Deeper Page

Going deeper is the phrase we use
to describe our deep love for Jesus
and our desire and intention to become
more and more the people he intends
for us to become.   Jesus says,
“You shall love the Lord your God with all
your heart, with all your soul, with all your
might and with all your strength.”

Reaching Wider Page

We understand ourselves to be a
missional church,a people who are
called to further the purposes of God
in our community and around world.
Jesus says, “You are my witnesses in Jerusalem,
Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Our missional identity shows up in a
thousand different ways but the single
phrase we use to describe is “going deeper.”
